This is a text file viewer and editor for Siemens 65 series phones.
In addition to plain .txt, this version can read two types
of compressed text files: The popular Palm DOC format (.pdb, .prc),
as supported by Aportis Doc, TealDoc, Mobipocket Reader and many others,
and the EPOC/Psion TCR format for even better compression.

* File menu
The file menu allows you to navigate the file system and open,
rename, move, copy, create and delete files. Which folders you can
use depend on the phone model.
On S55, M55 etc., working folders are <storage>, \Misc and \Text,
where <storage> is a nickname for \java\jam\MicroReader\storage.
On 65 series phones, default working folders are \Misc and \Text.
Press the left softkey labelled More>>, to access all folders
like the File system tool found in the phone's "Extras" menu.
MicroReader will try to create \Misc and \Text if they do not exist.
Being freeware, MicroReader is not certified as a trusted application,
and the phone will ask for permission to "Modify file system".
When asked, please permit access "For session". If you accidentally
choose never to allow access, MicroReader cannot do its work.
The problem can be corrected via the Surf&Fun menu:
Select MicroReader-> "Options"-> "Security"-> "Modify file system"->
"Change"-> "Ask at startup.".
* Keys
Right: Next page.
Left: Previous page.
1: Find previous. Long press: First page.
2: Previous line.
3: Find next. Press long for new search.
4: Previous page.
5: Hold to show file name, current/last page number and time.
6: Next page.
7: Set default bookmark. Long press: Slide show.
8: Next line.
9: Next word.
*: Change font.
#: Next byte.
0: Change colors.
Call (green key): SMS or Call.
Hangup (red key): Edit page.
Left softkey: 'Go to...'
Right softkey: Main menu.
* Call setup/SMS
MicroReader recognizes phone numbers in text files and can be used as
an address book with thousands of entries. Search for first and/or last
name, phone number or any other type of information.
Press the green Call key to activate. If the text contains a phone number
you are asked to set up a voice call, or you can edit the page and send it
as an SMS. Press and hold call key to copy up to 160 characters into the SMS editor.
Long messages up to 512 characters will be sent as several SMS's.
* Download file
Choose option Download from File menu to get a text file from an Internet web server.
Project Gutenberg (promo.net/pg) offers thousands of titles. For easy access,
get http://home.c2i.net/thvoslef/index.txt. To download a part of a file only,
specify a starting page number and number of pages to download.
The last page of the file will contain the URL and next page number.
Note: This concept may not work on dynamic content.
* Search
Search forward or backward from current file position for a page containing
the word(s) you specify. Case sensitive search is selectable with
options Match or Ignore case. To quickly find a name like "John Smith" you
can type in "joh sm" and press "Search Name".
Press key 3 to repeat search.
* Go to
Select Bookmark, Page number, Furthest read, First, Last, Random page
or Slide show. To simplify, the size of a 'page' is defined as 128 bytes.
* Edit
You can edit the current page with T9 input and save it back to the file.
Cut/Copy selects from cursor to Mark. Default Mark is at end of page.
* Bookmarks
MicroReader automatically bookmarks current page and show it when started.
'Go to Bookmark' lists all bookmarks you have added, sorted by page number.
Use key 7 to set (replace) the default bookmark.
* Slide show
To start, press&hold key 7.
Read as usual, page up/down when you need to. MicroReader quickly learns
how fast you read and turns the page for you.To stop, press any other key.
* Setup
Select scrollbar, large , bold or normal font.
Line space, Margins: May improve readability.
Line scroll: Makes up/down scroll one line.
Smart format: Trims whitespace.
Book format: Trims line breaks.
Character sets: Arabic, Cyrillic and Central European
are Windows encodings. Western, Greek, Hebrew: ISO 8859.
Press key 0 while reading to change color setup.
